What: how to turn one long piece into a week of posts without the platforms treating it as a repost.
For: creators and one-person businesses posting on more than one platform.
How: official platform pages first, then creators' methods. Select a card to see lines showing which advice backs or limits which; older versions of the app import it without the lines.
Notes: Tips for Improving Your Reach
What it is: Instagram's own advice on what helps or hurts being recommended to non-followers.
Why read it: It is the platform saying, in its own words, what it will not recommend.
Three points:
1. Reposted reels, visible watermarks and accounts that mostly reshare are less likely to be recommended.
2. Use Remix to build on someone else's reel with your own take, instead of reposting it.
3. In Insights, watch how much reach comes from non-followers; Account Status shows if you can be recommended.

How the platforms rank posts
Covered in the collection "For research creators": Instagram Ranking Explained, and How YouTube recommendations work. We don't repeat them here.

Notes: Instagram is updating its algorithm to surface more content from smaller, original creators
What it is: A news report on Instagram's originality change in recommendations.
Why read it: It spells out what happens when the same content appears twice.
Three points:
1. When two pieces are the same, Instagram recommends only the original, in Explore, Reels and feed suggestions.
2. Reposts get a label linking to the original creator.
3. Accounts that keep posting content they didn't make or improve drop out of recommendations; followers still see them.

Notes: YouTube channel monetization policies
What it is: YouTube's rules for which channels can earn money, including 'reused' and 'repetitive' content.
Why read it: It draws the line between reusing material and adding something of your own.
Three points:
1. Reused content means taking material already online without real commentary or changes; it applies even with the owner's permission.
2. Commentary, a storyline, or meaningful editing on top of a clip is fine; content that mainly features you is fine.
3. Videos that are interchangeable with each other count as repetitive, even if each is new.
"This policy applies even if you have permission from the original creator." (YouTube Help)
